What is a Chakra?

The word “chakra” is Sanskrit for “wheel of light”. A chakra is an energy centre; a point in the body or aura which transmits energy. The main 7 chakras run along the core of the body, following the spinal column. Chakras are often pictured or described as a lotus flower. The flower spins easily when it is free of blocks, but when blocks are forming, it begins to slow down. If blocks are not dealt with, the flower may stop spinning altogether. This means that energy is not entering or leaving the chakra. As the blocks are forming, the person will experience physical, mental and/or spiritual manifestations which will be chakra-specific. Some of these manifestations may include unclear thinking, pain, indigestion, headaches, sadness, or general dissatisfaction with current life patterns.

What can I expect in a Chakra balancing session?

img-ch-4There are many therapies which work with chakras. We use our knowledge of and training in multiple healing modalities to bring balance back to your chakra system. Some examples include the use of crystals, aromatherapy, colour healing, energy work, guided meditation, and hypnosis. Each session is individually tailored to your own specific needs.

Everyone experiences a chakra balancing session differently. If there are deep emotions being held within a chakra, you may have an emotional reaction such as crying or laughing. You may also feel relief from physical pain. Most commonly, people report feeling relaxed and peaceful after a session.

As well as offering healing/treatment sessions, we also offer workshops for practitioners and self treatment.

Chakra Healing Certification Program™

The Chakra Healing Certification Program™ is the culmination of years of research and working with the chakras. The first level of the program is the most in-depth and intensive of the levels. It is an 8-week course in which we explore, in detail, the 7 main chakras. The first half of the course is more academic in approach, with many self-healing exercises which are chakra-specific. In the second half of the course we put the knowledge into practice. We walk step by step through a proper chakra balancing session. You will learn how to assess a person’s chakras; how to determine the difference between excessive or too little energy within a chakra; 4 different healing modalities in which to bring balance to the chakras; and how to give appropriate self care exercises to the client. By the end of the 8 weeks you will be able to confidently work with clients & receive a certificate to display proudly on your wall.
